Finding The Perfect Small Coffee Maker

Posted on June 5, 2018August 10, 2018 by Isabella Blocker

If you live in a small apartment or even if you are just renting a room in someone else’s house, you might think that it is not possible for you to own your own coffee maker. You might want to have your own one serve coffee maker so that you can pew your own coffee and save money, but you feel like you have no room. However, do not dismay! There are plenty of small coffee makers out there that will be perfect for your individual and unique situation!

Why Have A Coffee Maker

You may not be convinced that you need a small coffee maker in your living space. After all, you can easily purchase your coffee from the coffee shop down the street. However, if you have your own small coffee maker at home, you can save hundreds of dollars every year!

Even if you are getting regular coffee, you are probably spending at least two dollars a day on a cup of plain coffee: that is almost eight hundred dollars a year!

If you are getting fancy coffee every day, you can more than double that amount—you could be spending over two thousand dollars a year on coffee without even knowing it! If you have your own one serve coffee maker at your own home, you can make these same coffee drinks for just a fraction of the price. Plus, you will be able to have this coffee whenever you want it—not just when the coffee shop is open!

Finding The Perfect Fit

There are plenty of different types of small coffee makers. You can get the traditional drip coffee maker in a smaller form if you like regular coffee. This will basically be a scaled down version of any other traditional coffee maker and will be a very cheap investment. If you like fancy coffee like cappuccinos or espressos, you will need to spend more with your initial investment to find a small coffee maker that fits your needs. A basic small coffee maker will be available at almost any department store, but you might need to go to a specialty shop if you are looking for a fancier version.

Whatever you do and whatever you purchase, know that adding a small coffee maker to your living space (read reviews of top 5 Keurig coffee machines) is a great investment. You will save hundreds—possibly thousands!—when you choose to spew your own coffee at home instead of purchase all of your coffee at a coffee shop.

Homemade Baby Cloth Wipes Solution

Posted on June 4, 2018June 5, 2018 by Isabella Blocker

You may be thinking, why would anyone take the time and hassle to make their own baby wipes solution when you can purchase already made wipes off the store shelf. I have myself used both disposable wipes and cloth wipes. After my experience with both, I can honestly say that using the cloth wipes are no more time consuming nor difficult.

There are many benefits to using baby cloth wipes and homemade baby wipes solution.

1. Cloth wipes are much less expensive.
2. They are reusable and environmentally friendly.
3. Cloth cleans up more efficiently as they are stronger and hold together better than disposables.
4. You have control over what ingredients and the amounts of what you add to make the cloth wipes solution.
5. No need to worry about having to make a trip to the store just because you ran out of disposables.
Baby wipes solution can be very basic and require little ingredients. After playing around for a little while with measuring I have found my happy medium.

For this solution you will need the following:

1 empty bottle
1 cup water
2 teaspoons baby oil
2 teaspoons baby body wash

All you need to do is pour the water into an empty bottle. Then add the baby oil and baby wash. Replace cover and shake.

Now you have your very own cloth wipes solution.

Thank you for stopping by!…

How To Make Quick and Easy Chocolate Pudding

Posted on June 3, 2018August 1, 2018 by Isabella Blocker

As summer approaches its time to step away from the oven and think cool, quick and easy. So here is a recipe for a delicious homemade rich chocolate pudding.

This dessert recipe is egg free and includes basic ingredients that most moms would have on hand in their kitchen on a daily basis. It really is just as quick to make as the prepackaged kind, only with the homemade version, there are no worries about any extra additives or preservatives.

Servings: 2

Ingredients:

* 2 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 2 cups + 2 tablespoons milk
* 3 tablespoons cornstarch
* 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method:

1. Add cocoa and 2 tablespoons of milk to a medium saucepan. Using a wire whisk stir until a smooth paste is formed. (Add a few more drops of milk if needed).
2. Stir in sugar and add 1 1/2 cups of milk.
3. In a small bowl mix together the cornstarch with the remaining milk. Add vanilla and mix.
4. Over medium heat, stirring often bring cocoa mixture to a boil. As soon as it begins to boil add in the cornstarch mixture heating again to a boil. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes.
5. Remove from heat. Pour pudding into serving dishes and place in refrigerator until well chilled.

Serve as is or top with whipped cream.

Enjoy 🙂…

How To Be A Happier Mom

Posted on June 2, 2018June 5, 2018 by Isabella Blocker

Happiness is not only important for your children and spouse but also you. This is true for both working moms as well as stay at home moms. Being a mom in either of these settings is not easy by any means. Often times moms neglect their own needs that contribute to their happiness.

A mother’s ability to be happier depends on how she takes care of her own physical and mental well being first. If she is not able to care for herself then how can she expect to care for others? A happier mom paves the way for a home that is calm, relaxing, and enjoyable.

The following are some words of advise and tips on how to become a happier mom.

1. Rise one hour before the rest of your family. Spend this hour totally on yourself. Get into the shower and then grab a cup of coffee or tea and relax. Check out the news, read a book, or surf the net. One hour may not seem like much but it does help get you off to a good start.

2. Do not compare yourself to others. You may think that there are moms out there so much better than you but in reality, no human is perfect, not even mothers. All mothers have their own trials, struggles, and make mistakes.

3. Play with your children. Get down on the floor to their level and let them lead the playing. Puzzles, building blocks, and board games are all great as they can be enjoyed by all ages.

4. Stick to a bedtime routine as much as possible. There are times when things will happen and your routine will be interrupted. That is just a part of life. For the most part, if there is a set bedtime kid will become accustomed and in return, you will have time for you and your spouse. Quality time together as a couple is very important for both of you.

5. Take up a hobby. Commit even half an hour a day to do something you can enjoy. This could sewing, knitting, writing, or crafting.

6. Get outside. Take your children out for some playtime and fresh air. Even if it is just to walk for 5 minutes. You will also feel more refreshed as well.

7. Let your kids be kids. Remember they are not adults. They will not always listen, make lots of mess, and have to be reminded over and over again. It is not fair to children to have to perform the same expectations as that of adults. As long as they are not harming themselves or others then let them enjoy being children.

8. Clean a little each day. Do not leave all the household chores to pile up for six days and then try to tackle it all once a week. Depending on your day you may not accomplish all you dreamed of, however, you will eventually get to it. If that means that the dirty dishes sleep overnight in the sink or the laundry gets left outside hanging on the line until the next day then so be it.

9. Skip the cooking at least once or twice a week. Ask your husband to bring take away food on his way from work. While it is not the healthiest option it may just be needed once in awhile.

10. Do not be afraid to put your needs and happiness ahead of others. Always remember to eat well and drink plenty of water during the day. Keep healthy and easily accessible snacks on hand. Fruits, trail mixes, and tea biscuits are good choices.

What do you do to help bring happiness to yourself as a mom? Is it helpful?…

Tips for Healthy Family Eating

Posted on June 1, 2018June 5, 2018 by Isabella Blocker

Eating healthy together as a family does not have to be complicated nor seem like a chore. If you work together as a family in meal planning and preparation you will be amazed by how much everyone will enjoy eating delicious nutritious meals.

Children, as well as adults, need to consume healthy foods that contain essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals in order to function well daily.

Healthy eating seems to be less of a priority nowadays among many families. Of course it is so much easier to shop for processed foods or stop by to grab takeout on the way home from work. Healthy eating can also be simple and does not have to take up a whole lot of time. Follow some of these tips to help instill healthy eating in your family.

1. Eat together. Eating together helps strengthen the family bond as well as encourage communication and reaching out to one another. It is a great time to catch up on everyone’s life and reflect. Do up the dining table nicely and include items to make it seem more fun and enjoyable. Have a centerpiece or include some flowers, candles, or cloth napkins.

2. Offer variety. When shopping pick out a select number of fruits and vegetables that you know your family enjoys eating. Look for whats on sale during that week to help with budgeting. Then the following week change it up a little to make it less boring.

3. Do not go hungry. Never allow yourself to be hungry for a long period of time unless you are fasting intentionally. People who sit down to eat after being hungry for a certain period of time tend to overeat usually with unhealthy foods.

4. If you don’t want anyone to eat unhealthy foods then don’t purchase any when shopping. If it is not put in front of anyone they will not be able to eat it.

5. Don’t serve meat with every meal. Our bodies simply do not need to consume meat every day in order to survive. Instead opt for fish or vegetable only dishes a few days a week.

6. Do serve vegetables with every meal. You can serve them in a variety of ways such as broiled, steamed, and raw.

7. Enjoy the occasional sweet dessert. Bake a chocolate cake or whip up a batch of brownies or cookies.

8. Be physically active together as a family. Take part together in exercises and/or sports. Encourage your children to try out new sports and join school teams and community events.

9. Limit screen time. Sitting in front of the screen not only cuts out physical activity. There is also a greater chance of picking up unhealthy eating habits and snacking.

10. Praise your children. Children love being praised. Encourage them to make healthy snack choices during the day. Also teach your children why it is important to eat healthy.…
